KINSEI sample box* — three diameters to get to know
We have put together a neat KINSEI sample box so you can get to know, feel and test our new golden jute ropes. You receive 3 × 4 m of rope, one rope per diameter.
Use the sample ropes to test, condition and experiment before you order a KINSEI Midi or Maxi roll. That way you can find the rope and the diameter that suits you best.
KINSEI is a supple, golden, medium-wound, 3-strand rope made from single-ply 100% Tossa jute yarn: softer than KIYOMI, slightly firmer than Mitsuki. Very low fibre loss, untreated / raw, JBO-free, VOT-batched with soybean oil, with the natural odour of fresh jute. There are no prickly fibres that can penetrate the skin.

- ⌀ 6 mm: 1 × 4 m — measured range 5.8–6.3 mm
- ⌀ 5.5 mm: 1 × 4 m — measured range 5.5–5.8 mm
- ⌀ 5 mm: 1 × 4 m — measured range 5.1–5.4 mm
KINSEI is made in small batches on traditional machinery. Individual lengths may therefore differ slightly in lay, twist and measured diameter.
KINSEI is very easy to condition. You can find comprehensive conditioning instructions here; we enclose a detailed flyer with the same information with your shipment. We recommend conditioning KINSEI with our vegan rope butter.
Please check for strand joins. With KINSEI, yarn spools are not changed during strand making. Instead, entire strands are joined seamlessly. These changeover sections, about 50 to 100 cm long, must be found and removed before use. Please check the 4 m sample lengths as well.
Intended for floor work; the ⌀ 6 mm rope may be used for suspension work, at your own risk. As this is the first batch of KINSEI ever made, we do not yet have long-term values; we will update this information as it becomes available.

Materials used:
Jute yarn: 100% corchorus olitorius Tossa jute, grade 1
Batching oil: Soybean oil
Even on sample lengths, please check for seamless strand-join sections and cut them out before use. Yarn spools are not infinitely long. Each spool of yarn has a beginning and an end, representing joins in the rope made with a knot. We recommend our customers to remove these knots if possible.
